Feeling the inner angst and emotional pain begin to take over, I made a practice of going outside to sit at the patio table, look at the trees and breathe. “I don’t understand!” “Why did this happen?” “Where is God?” “Who am I, now?” These questions seemed never ending. How would life ever move on? Slowly, I found my way. What I did not know at the time, was that I was discovering a framework that would continue to be life-giving for myself and others - the framework of transitions.
Join me, bringing your own story of transition to this half-day retreat, “Transition Journeys.” As a trained spiritual director and pastor, I will be your guide, providing meaningful input, experiential prayer practices, story, reflection, group discussion and guided solitude. I look forward to this journey!
"Karla was very prepared as a presenter and blended input with space for personal reflection very well. I especially appreciated her guided prayer. I find her voice calming and "non-intrusive," helping me to relax into the words she's reading." - Feedback from a Transition Journeys for Spiritual Directors and Clergy participant
Following this program, participants will:
Identify the three essential movements of transition and common responses.
Through spiritual practices and reflection, name where you find yourself within the three essential movements of your transition journey.
Commit to one action, fostering greater self-awareness, healing and wholeness within the transition journey.
